Prompt #66
Everybody dies. In order to accept the death of a loved one, people hold a funeral to remember the life of the deceased. Funerals are far from rare since people are dying everyday. Some people can do nothing but cry because of the loss of a friend or family member. Other people smile at the recollection of the great life the deceased had. The first funeral I went to was my grandfather’s. I was five at the time and didn’t really comprehend the concept of death. I don’t remember much about the service except that I wouldn’t let go of my grandmother’s trembling hand.
Nice demonstration of the large-to-small principle in action. The last two words are particularly effective.
